Our Basics

We are open Monday-Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm. We serve breakfast from 7:30-8am, a snack at 9:30am, lunch at 11:30am and another snack around 3pm, or once the children wake up from nap. All meals are included in our prices and we have a four week rotating menu, offering a variety of nutritious foods. Each class goes outside once in the morning and once in the afternoon for some time on the playground, grass lot or sometimes for a walk around the block to explore the sights around us. Our preschool year runs late August/early September through late May, with our summer program running late May through late August/early September. We have an enrollment packet with various forms to complete once you've taken a tour and you're ready to enroll. Outside of that we would need a copy of your child's birth certificate, their most recent physical and shot record.

Infant Classroom

Our infants run on their own individual schedules based on their personal needs, with feedings on your preferred schedule and diaper changes at least every two hours. Between feedings and changes our infants are enjoying tummy time, interacting with their teachers and peers, learning to roll over, sit up and working on various other fine and gross motor skills! Miss Malarie creates individual lesson plans based on their developmental level and needs. Our teachers love to get down on the floor to play and interact with the infants, as well as give them the extra cuddles and love they sometimes need. Getting messy and diving into painting projects or exploring water play are among their favorite things to do! We support both breastfeeding and formula feeding and will do our best to accommodate your needs in either situation. We provide Beechnut or Gerber puree vegetables and fruits, oatmeal and rice cereals, as well as Walmart's brand Parents Choice formula. You're welcome to provide your own preference of formula and food for your little one until they're ready for table foods if you wish.

Miss Julia creates a weekly lesson plan with a Bible lesson and activities to work on various gross and fine motor skills, social and emotional skills, communication and cognitive skills.

Pre-Kindergarten Classrooms

Our pre-k classes are for children the year before they enter kindergarten. These classes are designed to prepare them for the kindergarten classroom. Miss Renae and Miss Stacie create weekly lesson plans with a Bible lesson and activities to work on language arts, science, math, social studies, art and music. They seeks tips and tricks from local kindergarten teachers to ensure their classroom techniques truly assist the children in preparing for kindergarten. The children love acing their alphabet, shapes, colors and numbers. They begin to master not only writing their name but all of the letters of the alphabet and what sounds they make. The pre-k classroom isn't just about learning their ABCs and 123s, they learn social-emotional skills to help them in tough situations. The children are learning to work through conflicts without having to run to the teacher every time. They learn compassion and taking care of others in need, as well as independence.

School Agers

Our school age program, Little Bloomers 2 is for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. This new facility is the building right beside Little Bloomers, also known as YCON's fellowship hall. During the school year we offer before and after school care. A Yorktown Community Schools bus picks the children up from Little Bloomers before school and drops them off at Little Bloomers 2 after school. After school they have a snack, a little homework help and enjoy a few activities Miss Abbie plans. We also provide care on school days out, including Christmas break, spring break, holidays, snow days, etc. During the summer we keep the children busy with outdoor activities, field trips to the park, splash pad and various other adventures.
